Dancing Under the Stars.................................... Minimize

Lakewood, MI, as Luna Pier was known in 1926, was generally considered the best spot for dancing under the stars; in fact, at Luna Pier you could also dance over the water!

The lakefront community was served by regular street car service initially from downtown Toledo to Toledo Beach, located about five miles farther North. Luna Pier thrived during the roaring '20s and remained a mecca for dancers through much of the Depression.

The Rasey Memorial Library Branch is currently collecting Luna Pier memorabilia, photos, and history. To contact Carol Laurie, Librarian, call: 734-848-4572.
