Contractors are in the area performing maintenance to the dike system throughout the city. This work will take several months to complete and will be in different areas of the dike system based on weather conditions and the type of work being performed. Prep work may be done in one phase with finish work following some days later. Due to the uncertainty of the weather conditions and to the urgency in completing the repairs, it is difficult to give specific notice in advance of exactly where they will be working as the conditions can change by the hour. The crew is authorized to access the dike to perform the vital repairs. We appreciate your understanding during this very important project. It is our goal and the goal of the Flood and Erosion Protection Committee to keep our city safe from the real threat of flooding by maintaining our aging dike system.
