Luna Pier is well known for our beautiful public beach, lake pier, great fishing, lighthouse facilities, bike and walking lanes, charming parks, local spots for delicious fare and libations, live music, and amazing views of Great Lake Erie. Due to our growing popularity as a destination location, our efforts are ongoing to preserve the relaxing quality of life for our residents, provide an inviting and delightful experience for our visitors, and properly care for and maintain our captivating beach, pier, and lighthouse facilities. With those efforts in mind, please note the below enhancements to public parking in Luna Pier.
Pay-by-Plate Parking
Paid Public Parking requires the vehicle license plate to register.
Displaying a permit is not required.
Two Convenient Ways to Pay-by-Plate
1. Parking Payment Kiosk (located near beach)
– Follow prompts, enter license plate (card, bills, coins)
2. “Passport Parking” Mobile App (get alerts and extend time remotely)
– Download, register, enter license plate and zone (card only)

$4/Hour Fri, Sat, Sun; Non-weekend Holidays from 9a – 7p (then $2)
Walleye Peak Season | October-November and March-April
$4/Hour 6p – 6a Nightly

Parking Prohibited (Violators Subject to Ticket/Tow):
All business, restaurant, and church lots as posted.

Enforcement:
Enforcement is maintained digitally by mobile devices and provides real-time compliance by plate number.
Fines:
Parking Permit Violations are $30, rising to $50 if not paid within 5 days. Other traffic and parking fines vary by violation according to city ordinance.
Public Boat Launch & Park – Zone 48106:
2023 Rate Updates: $10/Day Pass, $60/Annual Pass Non-Resident, $40/Annual Pass-Luna Pier Resident

2. Check or Cash at @ DPW Permit Counter (building by boat launch) or City Hall.
Resident Only Parking Sticker:
As always, obtained at City Hall. Requires a current Vehicle Registration with Luna Pier address for each vehicle.
